Ok Sun Yi Pacheco, 63, of Woodway, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2004, in a Waco hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday in the OakCrest Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Gooil Lee of the Korean United Methodist Church officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 pm to 7 pm Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, followed by a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. OakCrest Funeral Home is located right across the street from the Heart of Texas Fair Complex.
Ok Sun was born August 22, 1940, in South Korea.
She was married on August 4, 1967, to Rudy Pacheco in Korea. She worked with her sisters at Kitok Restaurant until she became ill with sarcoma cancer in May 2002.
She attended the Korean United Methodist Church of Waco and Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.
Ok Sun was a very patient person with a big heart, and she loved her family and her church. She will not be forgotten by the many who loved her. She never lost faith and always fought her cancer with dignity.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mon Chun Yi; mother, Sun Kum Yi; and brother, Chung Myong Yi.
The family especially thanks the Korean United Methodist Church of Waco, the Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and all her friends, especially Dr. Chung Sook Kim, who kept her in their prayers and support.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Rudy Pacheco; four sisters, Kitok Yi Moore and Chun Cha Ko, of Waco, Young Sun Kim and Husband Jin Sung of Dallas, and O Sun Furlong and husband Calvin of Round Rock; two brothers, Chunk Ho Yi and wife Do Hee Yi of Plano, and Chunk Ki Yi and wife Hyong Mi Yi of Carrollton; five nephews, 11 nieces, four grandnephews, and three grandnieces.
