Olivia Hernandez passed away peacefully on August 3, 2021. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Sunday, August 8 at OakCrest Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am, Monday, August 9 at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church, 315 Jefferson Ave., Waco, Texas 76701. Olivia will be laid to rest at Rosemound Cemetery.

Olivia was born November 6, 1935, in Waco, Texas to the late Sam and Hortencia (Pena) Ramirez. She married Bruno Hernandez in May 1952. Olivia was a homemaker and she and her husband owned and operated Bruno’s Tailor Shop for more than 20 years. During this time she also became a real estate investor.

Olivia was a member of St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church where she served as part of the Ladies Guadalupana Club.

Olivia was preceded in death by her husband, Bruno Hernandez, Sr.; mother and step-father, Hortencia and Cruz Tobias of Waco; and father, Sam Ramirez of California.

She is survived by her children, Bruno Hernandez, Jr., Alice Hayes, Esther Celeste Acevedo and husband, Francisco of Waco; and her brother Ralph Ramirez of Waco, Tx; grandchildren, Mark Hayes, Robert Limones and wife, Maricela of Waco, Ann Murillo and husband, Manuel, Alex Limones of Waco, Laura Limones, and Andrea Limones of Waco; 9 great grandchildren, Alejandra Xitlali, Ariel Daniela, Ty Alexander Sanchez, Jr., Annalee Rose, Apollo Ian, and Nyla Samara; brother-in-law, Pat Hernandez and wife, Faye of Waco; nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.

Thank you, Ms. Diana, for your love, care and support during Olivia’s medical journey and thank you to the staff of Homestead Nursing Center of Hillsboro for the excellent care provided.
