Ollie Ruth Wetzel Petty, 84 of Waco passed away at a local hospital. Services will be 10 am Monday, July 24, 2006 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev.Greg Moore and Kenneth Guenat officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 pm Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Mrs. Petty was born October 20, 1921 in Travis, Texas to Edward Fritz Wetzel and Rosie B. Canik Wetzel. Ollie married William Walter Petty November 15, 1945 in Marlin, Texas. She was a member of Ecclesia Community Baptist Church. Ollie had worked at Lake Air Lanes nursery and snack bar for over 30 years, she was a member of the Sul Ross Center, Women's Bowling Association, Monday Night Bunko Group and was an avid bingo player.

Mrs. Petty was preceded in death by her husband, William Walter Petty, daughter Rose Marie Petty, son-in-law Walt Miller, she was the last of eight siblings, four sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Petty is survived by daughters Shirley Miller of Granbury, Nancy Guenat and husband Kenneth, Gloria Moran and husband David, son William (Billy) Petty and wife Carla all of Waco, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Moran, Randy Moran, Harold Moran, Johnny Miller, Walter (Bubba) Miller, and Brian Martin. Honorary pallbearer will be Kevin Keating, Charlie Matthews, and Charles Vestal.

The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Hospital, a special thanks to Dr. Larry Davis, nurse Kristen, and 4 North nursing staff for their professionalism and excellent care.

Memorials may be made to the Ecclesia Community Church, 2525 E. 25th, Waco, Texas 76708.
