Ollie Maye West, 87, of Waco, went to be with the Lord and be reunited with her beloved daughter, Katy, on Wednesday, April 26, 2006.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown continuously during the visitation.
She will forever be cherished and remembered by her grandchildren, Molly Herring, Michael Herring and wife Melody, and Mark West; her great-grandchildren, Shayna, Noah, Hannah, Spencer, Sean, Katy Ann, Abygale, and Maisey and her soon to be born great-great-grandchild. Her many friends will miss her dearly also.
She was a wonderful woman with great strength, faith, kindness, thoughtfulness, and unconditional love for all. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church since 1953 where she served as president of the Horizon Flower Garden Club for many years.
She was a co-founder and faithful member of the Central Texas Doll Club and was the show chair-person for 13 years. She enjoyed sharing her love of dolls with clubs and area retirement homes.
For many years she and a dear cousin sang at the area homes also. Her other pleasures were enjoying the artistry of many painters, especially Thomas Kincaide, and painting her own water colors. She also spent years creating other special artistic items and loved visiting with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made for the Hill Camp for Boys and Girls, but sent to Michael Herring at 107 James Wesley, Robinson, TX 76706.
