Opal Sanders Meador

Opal Sanders Meador, 96, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at her residence. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell with Rev. Andy Tyler officiating. There will be a visitation with her family at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.

Opal was born March 24, 1915 in Iredell to George Homer Sanders and Molly Retta Hudson Sanders. Traveling the world with Jack and his job was always a pleasure to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and five sisters, Carrie, Wilda, Ila Faye, Juanez and Juanita.

Opal is survived by her husband, John T. "Jack" Meador of Waco; her sister, Iva Lee Plummer of Crane; and her niece and nephew, Carolyn and Bobby Sawyer of Hico.

"When I am gone, I hope it can be said of me that I plucked a thistle and planted a flower wherever I thought a flower would grow".
