Ophelia "Faye" Medina, 68, of Waco, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2005 at a local hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Harvest Time Revival Center, 2708 Robinson Drive, with Pastor Lee Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown.
Faye was born and raised in Waco, the daughter of Bradley and Rachel (Garcia) Monrial. For 20 years, she owned and operated the popular El Taco Loco Restaurant on South 12th Street.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and wife. She was a very kind, people person who truly cared for others. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Samuel Monrial in 1940. May they rest in peace.
Survivors include her son, Tony Guardiola and wife Jean of Katy; daughters, Isabel and husband Daniel Rojas Jr. of Waco, and Christina and husband Robert Salinas Jr. of Waco; brothers, Bradley Monrial Jr., George Monrial, Ruben Monrial, and Rudy Monrial, all of Waco, and Sam Monrial of Dallas; sisters, Bernada Aguilar, Rachael Barnes, Dora Monrial, Julia Gomez, Virginia Reyes, Susie Morales, and Mary Beverly, all of Waco; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
