Pam passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 29th, 2024. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on November 6th at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco, Texas. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on November 7th at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Dorrell officiating.
Pam was the eldest of two children born to Thomas and Barbara Zorn. She was raised in Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 1963.
Throughout her years she had a love of the lively arts, especially acting and singing. You could often find her singing in the church choir or performing the National Anthem at her children’s High School football games. Pam was also an avid writer and even had articles published in the Waco Citizen. She got into politics a bit and once ran for Mayor of Waco. She had also worked many different jobs, including working at the Minute Maid Plant, Social Security Office, and as the switchboard operator at McLennan County Courthouse. Pam was married to a United States Air Force Officer which took the family across the country as well as a few years in Japan.
Pam had such a love for The Lord and took any chance He provided her to witness and bring others to know Him. When she entered the gates of Heaven, I am sure our Lord said to her, “Well done thy good and faithful servant, well done.” Her charismatic personality and “can do” attitude will be missed by those that knew and loved her.
Pam is survived by her son, Thomas Hawkins; daughter, Jennifer Strafford; brother, Tommy Zorn; and two grandchildren, Joshua Strafford and Avalon Strafford.
