There will be no set visitation time, but friends are welcome to come by OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Friday, May 21, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for viewing. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the viewing hours Friday and before the funeral service Saturday.

Pat was born June 13, 1951 in Brownwood to Harry Taylor Stewart and Josephine Alta (Minca) Stewart. She came to Waco in the early 1960's where she attended North Junior High and Waco High School. At Waco High, she was a member of the Golden Voice Choir and a Candy Striper who volunteered at Hillcrest Memorial Hospital. She graduated in 1969.

Pat attended Hill Junior College, where she became a hair stylist. She was the owner of Pat's Cut and Curls of West for many years. Pat never met a stranger. She could be standing in line and someone would start telling her their life story.

Pat also loved all children. Anytime she would hear a baby cry she would extend her arms and say come to Aunt Pat. When the baby was in her arms, the crying would stop.

Pat was a member of the Tsalagiyi Nvdagi (Texas Cherokee) Tribe. She enjoyed dancing at the Four Winds and all Pow-Wows, and the family especially thanks John Stephenson, Kassa Willingham, and all the dancers. Pat also participated at Native American events at the Cameron Park Zoo, including the two naming, and blessing of the Bison at Native American Days, thanks to Terri Cox, Johnny Binder, and Connie Kassner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and several brothers.

Pat is survived by her husband, Ron Trussell of Waco; daughters, Tammie Pressley and husband, Gary of Fort Worth, Tanya Camp of West, and a daughter, Gwen Chudej of West; step-daughter, Laura Bachmann and husband, Jason of Bealua, North Dakota; brother, Clayton Stewart of Mart; sister-in-law, Darla Trussell of Waco; mother-in-law, Lawanda Raborn of Laguna Park; grandsons, Ty Pressley, Trevor Chudej, Mason Chudej, and Garret Brown; granddaughters, Destiny Moran, Erica Camp, and Brittany Camp; step-grandchildren, Josiah, John, Elijah, Elisha, and Esther Buchmann; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Moran.

The family would like to thank all the physicians, nurses and social workers at Brazos and Bellmead Kidney Centers, especially Dr. Wilson, Joe Hall, Bonnie Symank, and Tommy Green, and the Blue Bonnett Hospice nurses.
