Patsy Ann Jernigan, 72, of Waco, our beloved mother, wife and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 1 a.m. from a stroke. Services will be at 10 am Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Kreins officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video of her life will be shown.
Patsy was born on August 10, 1932 in Pulaski, VA to Walter and Evelyn (Curry) Childress. She was married April 9, 1966 to Byron Jernigan. She was involved in child care for many years, and was an active bowler. She was a member of First Church of God in Waco.
She is survived by her husband, Byron Jernigan; two daughters, Ginger Whitley and husband, Billy of Corrigan, and Candy Cook and husband, Bill of Waco; brother, Walter Childress of Bradinton, FL; and grandchildren, Brandon Cook of Waco, Joseph Lewis of Bossier City, La., and Lisa Lewis of Corrigan.
Pallbearers will be Bill Cook, David Mayeux, Jeff Derr, Jay Macy, Ridge Hamblin, and Michael Lindner.
