Paul Orval Blankenstein, 88, passed away on February 12, 2014. Funeral Services will be 2 pm, Monday, February 17, 2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Pastor John Wood officiating. Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday, February 16, 2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Paul Orval Blankenstein was born October 26, 1925 to Paul and Annie Kreder Blankenstein. Paul was hardworking, he retired from General Tire after 36 ½ years and after retirement he and Melba worked Baylor sporting events together for 28 years. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Waco. He enjoyed making jewelry and working with his hands. Paul could fix most anything and was always ready to lend a hand in anyway he could.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Laird Blankenstein; daughter, Paula F. Lynn, and husband Sidney; and long-time friends Gerald and Elizabeth Hatfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents, late wife, Frances Sydow Blankenstein; brothers, Herman Blankenstein, Harvey Blankenstein; sisters, Margaret Nix, Lucille Petty, Roseanne Blankenstein; and several nieces and nephews.
