Paul Concilio

Paul A. Concilio, 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 1, 2009 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully from this life surrounded in love by his family.

Paul's life will be celebrated at a memorial service held at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church on Sunday, November 8 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ron Durham and Monsignor Mark Deering officiating. Visitation will follow at the church in the Spencer Parlor.

Paul was born on December 30, 1948 in Waco to Doris and Paul Concilio who owned Paul's Shoe Service in Waco which served Waco and surrounding communities for about 60 years. Following graduation from Richfield High School in 1967, Paul obtained his BBA, MBA and CPA from Baylor University. Countless students benefited from his passion for teaching during his 30 year career at McLennan Community College.

From his earliest days, Paul was fascinated with anything electronic and soon became known as the audio technician that professionals would call on for advice. He was an old soul with a passion for the big band era. His extensive record collection was a source of great pride and pleasure. The classic Chrysler and Packard were favorites from a large array of Antique autos he possessed. For those who are attending the service, please feel free to drive your classic car or truck to the service. There will be a designated area in the church parking lot for your automobile.

He was a charter member and past president of the Waco Community Band, a member of the Heart of Texas Old Car Club and a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Jeanette; two sons and their spouses, Paul (Trey) Concilio and wife, Melissa and granddaughters, Brittney and Bethaney Binder all of Waco and Kenneth Concilio and wife, Sharon and granddaughter, Natalie Concilio all of Mobile, Alabama; three sisters, Tisa Bilek and Carole Concilio both of Casper, Wyoming and Cathy Bryant of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude for all the prayers and encouragement over the past 5 years. Words cannot express how truly blessed they feel to have so many wonderful friends and family in their lives.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Providence Hospice or the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation.
