Paul Richard Martin
, age 90, of Sarasota, Fl, formerly of Waco, TX, peacefully passed away July 25, 2022 at Tidewell Sarasota Hospice House, Sarasota, Florida.
Paul was predeceased by his wife, Fern Martin who passed away on April 10, 2008.
Paul was born September 21, 1931, in St. Louis MO, the son of Theodore and Constantine (Xantippe) Martin.
Paul is survived by stepson, Dennis Patlis and wife, Ketty; stepgrandsons, Jimmy, of Sarasota Fl. and Andrew of NY; stepdaughter, Bonnie Walters and husband Don of Gettysburg, PA; and stepgrandson, Jason and wife Jackie of Orlando, Fl. He is also survived by his 4-legged companion Precious, a Wire Fox Terrier who was by his side for 16 years.
Paul was an airman in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War.
From St. Louis to New York to Florida and finally to Waco, Paul and Fern made their home and helped manage Waco’s Tanglewood Farms Restaurant. Paul was head chef and enjoyed cooking home style meals for their guests and running the kitchen until retirement in 1998.
Paul enjoyed traveling with Fern, playing bingo, fishing, golf, and his hobby of many years, building and flying model airplanes along with collecting stamps and baseball cards.
Graveside services with military honors will be at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S 5th St, Waco, on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 10 am.
