Paul Lankford Stafford, 91, of Waco, completed his earthly journey Tuesday, June 2, 2009 and is now with his Savior.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Bible Way Church, 2800 Gurley Ave., with the Rev. David Arnett and the Rev. Brian Pendleton officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Paul was born October 21, 1917 in Otto, Texas to L.O. and Arelsie (Widner) Stafford. He graduated from Watt High School, and then served in the Army during WWII. Paul was married to Doris Elaine Hawkins for 55 years until her death in 1993, and they had one daughter, Bonnie. He married Mary Elizabeth Prowell on December 9, 1995.

Paul owned and operated the Paul Stafford Real Estate and Insurance Agency for 35 years. He sponsored Little League Baseball team for many years. He also worked faithfully with the Gideons for a long time. He was a former Deacon at Memorial Baptist Church, a former chairman of Deacons, and took great pride in this church. Presently Paul was a member of Bible Way Church. He was well known businessman in the community, and was a Christian gentleman in every way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Doris; brothers, Louis, Odis, Royce, Howard and Bob; and sisters, Agnes, Lois and Johnnie.

Paul is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Bonnie Stafford McMinn and husband, Bobby of Hewitt, and Mitzi McGaugh and husband, Doug of Waco; step-daughters, Susan Abbott and husband, Paul, Sandy Juntunen and husband, Duane, Twila Bartlett and husband, Bill, Sharon Curry and husband, Ronnie; step-sons, Roger Prowell, and wife, Tina, Andrew Thomas Prowell, Jr. and wife, Deborah, and Joe Prowell; sister, Mary Ellen Akin; his is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved and adored dearly.

Pallbearers will be Bobby McMinn, Steve McMinn, Bobby Deaton, Doug McGaugh, Andrew Prowell and Ronnie Curry.

Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice in Paul's memory.
