Paul Vasquez, 57, of Hewitt, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 15, 2009.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ramiro Pena and Rev. Dorso Maciel officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Paul was born June 29, 1951 in Waco to Joe and Julia Vasquez. He lived in Waco all his life and attended Waco schools. He worked in home remodeling and as a painter. Paul enjoyed listening to Rock n Roll, family gatherings and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was humorous and a fun loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Paul loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Paul was a member of Christ the King Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ruben Vasquez; and sister, Erlinda Ann Vasquez.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Connie Villareal; sons, Paul Vasquez, Jr., Brian Vasquez, Michael Saenz and wife, Jessica and Marcus Saenz; daughters, Amy Benavides and Christy Luevano and husband, Fabion; several grandchildren, including the joy of his life, Christopher; brothers, Robert Vasquez, Vincent Vasquez and wife, Carol, Randy Vasquez and Ralph Vasquez; sisters, Anna Chapa and husband, Alex, Vickie Rodriquez and husband, Jesse "Jaybird", Carole Padilla, Della Vasquez, Dianna Sadler and husband, John and Dora Vasquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Alex Chapa, III, Reuben Padilla, II, Joseph Aguilar, Brandon Vasquez, Vincent Vasquez, II, Jason Rodriguez, Brandon Anderson and Caleb Moss. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Vasquez, Andre Chapa, Levi Machado, Joshua Aguilar, Ruben Vasquez, Jr., and Robert Vasquez, Jr.
The family wishes to thank the Bluebonnet Hospice staff and the Family Health Center staff for their loving care of Paul throughout his fight with cancer.
