Paula Ballesteros

Paula Ortiz Ballesteros passed peacefully on July 18, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Paula was born to Jesus and Barbara Ortiz on April 21, 1926 in Concho County, Texas.

Paula gained great strength in life through her faith. She was a charming lady and had a gentle, genuinely and kind soul. She asked for little and gave so much. Paula thoroughly enjoyed cooking and gardening . She had a sense of style and talent to decorate, make floral arrangements and Christmas bows . She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was their most dedicated sports fan.

Paula was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joe Ballesteros, her parents and brothers, Romaldo Ortiz, Jesse Espinoza, and sisters Anita Martinez and Socorro Lopez.

She is survived by her children, John E. Ballesteros and wife Bertha of Austin, Tx Joe Paul Ballesteros, Barbara B. Carbajal and husband Robert, Mary Helen Ballesteros and Carol Diane Hesbrook all of Waco., seven grandchildren, Sandy Umland and husband Brian of Scottsdale, AZ Jackie Ballesteros and Justin Cunningham , John Paul Ballesteros of Austin, TX. Samantha Carbajal Fichter and husband Sonny of Robinson, TX and Brian Cody Carbajal and fiancée, Erica Escobar of Dallas, TX. Caroline and Joe Hesbrook of Waco, and great-grand-children, Anisah Salinas, Garrett and Callista Fichter.

She also leaves behind her sisters, Esther Gateff and husband Eli of Springfield, VA., Lupe Ortiz, Lucy Jimenez and husband Willie, Barbara Vasquez, Mary Lou Martinez of Waco and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Paula's Physician's, Dr. Kent Petty, Dr. Carl Chakmakjian, and a special thanks to Pamela Alonzo, and Gentiva Hospice for their caring and compassionate care.
