Paula Jean Holub, 58, of Waco, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at a local care center.
The family will hold a private service later with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery by OakCrest Funeral Home.
Paula was born September 25, 1947 in Long Beach, California, to James and Ginger McCloud. For 21 years, she was a flight attendant for Braniff Airlines. She dedicated her life to helping others unselfishly, volunteering at St. Anne's Circle at St. Louis Catholic Church for many years, at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Dallas where she worked with AIDS patients, and at Scott Rite Children's Hospital in Dallas.
She was a loving and devoted mother, wife and friend. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco, and an avid tennis player and runner who ran marathons. She was preceded in death by her father, James McCloud.
She is survived by her son, Scott Holub of Fort Worth, and his father, Ron Holub and wife Joyce of Waco; mother, Ginger Allen of San Diego; brothers, Brian Allen of San Diego, and Randy and Dan McCloud, both of Michigan; sister, Karen Scott of Nashville; and aunts, Maxine Brown of Michigan and Berta Jones of Indiana.
Special thanks to healthcare giver Sharla Nowaski; Providence Hospice; and Paula's aunt, Rose Ganser of Mart, who assisted Paula greatly during her time of illness.
Memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society, 2032 Circle Rd., Waco 76706 or Fuzzy Friends Rescue, 6321 Airport Rd, Waco 76708. Special thanks to Providence Hospice and to St. Catherine's for all their love and care during these past few weeks.
