Peggy Johnson

Peggy R. Johnson, 81, of Waco, passed away on June 13, 2016. Visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday, June 15 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd, Waco. Services will be Thursday, June 16 at 10:00 am at Oakcrest with Reverend Joe Bailey of Speegleville Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Peggy was born January 7, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas. She attended Harlindale High School where she was a proud member of The National Honor Society. After graduation, she married and had 3 children, and eventually settled in Waco, Texas in 1964.

She worked for Creative Fabrics and Kmart for many years and made several lifelong friends. She worked tirelessly to provide for her children. She loved planting flowers and decorating her home. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas and having all of her family together. She doted over her 4 grandchildren and set for them an example of generosity and caring for others.

Peggy, also known as ” Grammy”, can be remembered telling her grandchildren many times over the years that she would one day be getting her Angel’s wings. Today, she is at home in heaven, and dancing with the Angels.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Goodman Boeck; father, Walter “Pat” Boeck.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Johnson Kuchera, and husband, John; son, Cleetus H. Johnson, lll; son, Joseph “Joey” D. Johnson, and wife, Tina; grandchildren, Holly Kuchera; Andy Kuchera, and wife, Morgan; Lindsay Johnson and Erin Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Cleetus Johnson, Joey Johnson, John Kuchera, Andy Kuchera, Joel Cate, and Tracy Moss.

The family would like to thank Providence Hospital, Providence Hospice, and St. Catherine’s for their compassionate care.
