Rachel Rivas

Rachel Rivas, 62, of Waco, passed away on October 19, 2016 at Providence Hospital. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 25 from 6 to 8 pm with a prayer vigil to begin at 6 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 26 at 10 am at St. Francis Catholic Church, 301 Jefferson Ave. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Rachel was born February 22, 1954 in Waco to Apolonio B. Aleman and Herminia I. Gutierrez. Rachel enjoyed planning family gatherings, talking about old times together, shopping at HEB and Walmart, and most of all, she loved her pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Herminia, as well as all her siblings, Felix, Richard, and Abigail Aleman.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Agustin Rivas and her daughters, Jennifer and Mercedes Aleman. She still has much family including cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime family friends to keep her memory alive.

The family wholeheartedly thanks the loving and professional care at both the South 18th Community Clinic of Waco and Providence Hospital for the attention and care they gave Rachel during her time as their patient.
