With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ralph Ramirez. The Lord called Ralph home on December 24,2024, just one week shy of his 88th birthday.
Ralph was born in Waco, Texas to Sam and Hortencia (Pena) Ramirez. In 1956 he graduated from Waco High, where he was a member of the Boxing Club, something of which he was very proud. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Houston, then later he moved to the Dallas area to work.
In the 1980’s he moved back to Waco, and earned his real estate brokers license and began helping his mother and stepfather in their real estate investment business. Ralph never met a stranger and was always an interesting conversationalist. He loved history, especially the history of Waco and also current events and had an extensive knowledge of both. Ralph was always a sports enthusiast and he loved his Dallas Cowboys.
Ralph is survived by his loving companion of the last 25 years, Diana Miller and her son Rojo Phillips. He was lovingly regarded by Diana’s extended family, who considered him an uncle, brother, and friend. He is also survived by his son, Tod and grandson; daughter, Kim; and niece, Esther Celeste and her husband, Francisco Acevedo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Ramirez; mother, Hortencia and stepfather, Cruz Tobias; and sister Olivia Hernandez.
Ralph was a special and unique soul and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Honorary pallbearers are Rojo Phillips, Stephen Davies, Jerome Faskas, David Faskas and Francisco Acevedo.
