Rayburn Taylor

Rayburn Lynn Taylor passed away unexpectedly with his family at his side on May 25, 2017. He was born in Waco on February 8, 1942 to Pearl and Jack Taylor. He graduated from Waco High School in 1960 and then from Baylor University in 1977. Rayburn taught at McLennan Community College for 22 years before retiring in 2005. In his retirement he established Waco Web Design.

Rayburn was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hewitt and loved his Lord with all his heart. He was an integral member of the Waco High Class of 1960 and spent many hours organizing reunions and functions for them. His greatest love was his wife of 56 years, Carolyn. He often said he got the better end of the deal when she married him. His love for his 3 girls was beyond measure and it was obvious to all who knew him how important his family was to him. He got the greatest joy from his grandchildren and they adored him. Rayburn made so many friends over his lifetime because of his kindness and compassion and his huge heart and willingness to help in any way he could. He will be so missed by many people who loved him.
Rayburn is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Mallory Wren.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Todd Taylor; daughters, Amy Austin and husband, Grant of The Woodlands, Emily Tirado and husband, Wally of Plano, and Angie Wren and husband, Billy of Belton; grandchildren, Hannah and Leah Austin, Elena and Isaac Tirado, Taylor, Allison and Davis Wren; brothers, Larry Taylor and Jimmy Taylor of Waco; and Cindy Barr of Hewitt.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 3 pm at Oakwood Cemetery.
