Raymond G. Martinez, Jr., beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather died on March 28, 2020 in Waco, Texas after two years of battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia. A graveside funeral service, officiated by Very Rev. C. Benjamin Magnaye, was held on April 10, 2021 at Waco Memorial Park. Services were delayed due to the Covid-19 and the pandemic.
He was born April 13, 1951 to Raymond G. Martinez, Sr., and Manuela Guerra Martinez, in Kingsville, Texas.
Raymond graduated from University High School in Waco, Texas and attended MCC. He worked for many years in the mobile home industry and retired from Home Depot. He enjoyed playing softball, putt-putt golf, bingo and gathering with family, especially on holidays. He also enjoyed serving at Sacred Heart Church in his youth as an altar boy, and later as an usher and volunteer.
He is preceded in death by his wife Debra A. Boyett Martinez, and both of his parents.
Raymond is survived by his wife Kay Martinez, his son Raymond Martinez, III, his daughter Rachael (Brian) Baker and their two daughters, Sophia Ann and Vivian Ruth Baker. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his four sisters; Dolores (Henry) Veselka, Norma Moon, Velma (Roger) Kocian and Librada (Jack) Kopatz, and all their children and grandchildren. Also there are numerous cousins with their spouses and children and grandchildren left behind as we are a large family.
