Rayola Nance, 70, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at her residence. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Rayola was born February 2, 1941 in Beckley, W.V. to Emery "Duck" Walker and Irene Bolin Walker. She graduated from high school in 1958 and left West Virginia to live in Phoenix with her uncle and aunt. Rayola met Wilford Dale Nance. They were married October 1, 1962 in Phoenix were they resided until 1975 when they moved to Waco. Rayola worked for Eckerd Drug for over 25 years before beginning a career at CVS where she worked as a Pharmacy Tech and Cashier and then most recently worked for Recept as a Pharmacy Tech until her retirement in September 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilford Dale Nance; her sister, Susie Harden; and brother, Mac Walker of West Virginia.
Rayola is survived by her daughter, Donna McMahon and husband, Mark; grandson, Caleb McMahon all of Big Spring, Texas; her sisters, Carol Walker and Hope Gillispie.; brothers, Dallas Walker, Mickey Walker and Danny Walker all of Beckley, W.V., Oren Walker of Radford, Virginia and John Walker of Christiansburg, Virginia.
