On Saturday, September 13, 2008, Rebecca Brown Burgin, our daughter and sister, was reunited with her two daughters who preceded her in death on January 2, 2002.
A celebration of Becky's life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, at OakCrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation with her family will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 15, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Becky was born March 4, 1964 in Odessa to Bill and Bettie (Williams) Brown. For the past five years, she was a representative for McCormick Spices. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waco.
Becky loved the outdoors and no matter what life threw her way, she never lost hope.
She is survived by her parents, Bill and Jeanette Brown of Waco; three brothers, Bob Brown and wife, Debbi of Axtell, Barry Brown and wife, Diane of Waco, and Brad Brown and wife, Shirley of Speegleville; sister, Kelley Jakubik and husband Jason of Missouri City; grandmother, Lucille Roberts (Gingaw) of Waco, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Townsend, Walter Nelson, Scott Blinn, Roger McCurrin, Rick Strong, and Mark Fallon.
Her family would like to express thanks to her friends, Walter Nelson and Dawn Bryant, who helped ease her pain and made sure she was never alone to the end.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Community Cancer Association, P.O. Box 5002, Waco, TX 76708.

It's been almost seven long years since God brought the two of you home, and now our hearts are at peace as mom Becky joins you both in heaven. Your loving family.
