Regina R. Todaro

Regina Rose Klos Todaro, 96, resident of St. Catherine Center in Waco, Texas, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 28, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm Monday, February 1, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in Waco at 1401 Washington Ave. with the Rev. Msgr. Emil J. Wesselsky from St. Henry's Catholic Church of San Antonio as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 31, 2010 starting at 6 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with visitation to follow from 7 pm to 8 pm.
Mrs. Todaro was born April 23, 1913 in Victoria, Texas to Joseph and Theresa Klos. She attended and graduated from St. Ludmilla Catholic School in Shiner, Texas. Eventually she moved to Waco, Texas where she met Russell C. Todaro and they were united in marriage in 1933. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1977.
Regina was a faithful member of St Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption where she was a member of the Catholic Women's Guild, the Choir and The Ladies of Charity until her residency at St. Catherine's Center. Regina enjoyed sewing and worked for Sach's Austin Avenue for 10 years as well as sewing for a large distinguished clientele of Waco.
Her hobbies were playing dominoes, fishing, dancing and cooking Italian cuisine. In 1978, Regina was crowned "Miss Carp" at the annual Lake Waco Carp Fishing Tournament, where she proudly represented the "Italian Team" or best known as "Momma Todaro's boys".
Regina leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered forever by her family and friends, as a kind, loving, and gracious Christian woman who loved her Lord.
Her parents, sons Richard A. Todaro and James M. Todaro, and step-son Charles J. Todaro, two grandchildren, John Todaro Jr. and Elizabeth Ellen Parrish, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her, children, John and Caroline Todaro of Quitman, Teresa and Brick Parrish of Hunt, Rusty and Jane Todaro of Canyon Lake, BJ and Debbie Todaro of Lorena; daughter-in-law Beverly Todaro of Waco; step-daughter Dorothy and Ollie Lampert of Waco; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Providence Hospice and the St. Catherine Center 1st floor Staff, you have ALL been a blessing to us and our family; we will never forget your loving care, kindness and special attention you gave to our Mom/Nana. She loved you all and so do we.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
