Jerry, the son of Jerrell and Beverly Ramsey of Woodway Texas, was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 5th 1958. The Ramsey family moved from Corpus Christi in 1974 where Jerry graduated from Midway High in 1976. After graduation, Jerry joined the Army and served almost fifteen years. He attained the rank of Sergeant. He had two tours of duty in the Netherlands, Allied Forces Central Europe and was also stationed in Key West, Florida and Des Moines, Iowa.
While serving in the military, Jerry married and had four children. Upon leaving the Army, he returned to Waco, Texas to raise his children and to provide them with extended family support. He was last employed at Dillard's in Waco prior to his illness. Jerry was always willing to advise a friend or family member, and could be counted on to regale us with a humorous story or joke. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy on TV. He will be greatly missed.
