Ricky Dean Guthrie, 53, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home by Rev. Bill Pack and Rev. Jim Houser.
Burial will be 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Waxahachie.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Ricky was born in Dallas, moving to Waco in 1962. He proudly served the Marine Corps, and married Pat White May 17, 1991 in Waco. For the past 15 years, he worked at Packaging Corporation of America.
He was a member of North Waco Baptist Church, and enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and his dogs, Master Sgt. Guthrie, Smokee, Maxine and Jerry Lee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Dean Guthrie.
Ricky is survived by wife, Pat; mother and dad, Jan and David Meier of Waco; brothers, Larry Guthrie of Lubbock, David Alan Meier and wife Jennifer of College Station, and Robert Meier of Waco; sister, Dawn Rusek and husband John of Waco; grandmother, Iva Guthrie of Ennis; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family thanks Hillcrest Hospice for its care, and suggests Marine Toys for Tots for memorials.
