Robert Blackwood

Robert Blackwood was born July 29, 1936 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas County. His Father was Albert Lee Blackwood and his Mother was Deloris Ruby Pitzer Blackwood.

Robert resided at Mexia State School until he moved into a home in the community with Mosaic, formerly Martin Luther Homes, in 1998.

Robert lived in Corsicana in the home until moving to Killeen with Bill and Angela Hunter who provided a caring home for David, Robert's friend and himself. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter offered Robert many opportunities such as a wonderful home, nursing services and vacations to Disney World and Jamaica.

Robert was offered another living arrangement and was living with Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Garrett until it became necessary for him to move into the nursing home.

Christmas was his favorite time of year and he loved dressing up like Santa Claus and giving out candy. His favorite place was the Bob Gilmore Center with his friends and he loved using the telephone. Robert loved to collect business cards and phone numbers. He loved letters and cards.

He will be missed by everyone who had the
pleasure of being called his friend.

When he trusted you and believed in you he would tell you "I love you- all my heart".

We love you Robert, "with all our hearts!"
