Robert was employed by Owens Illinois for 31 years, M & M Mars for 5 years, and CTMM for seven years before retiring to help with his grandchildren.

After a short marriage he was rewarded with four lovely daughters. It was quite a challenge over the years raising four girls, but he was rewarded with a legacy that included eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Most of his retirement was spent enjoying time with his family.

As he got older with significant health struggles it created a challenge for him. He fought a hard battle until being called to his heavenly home on August 10, 2013 but never lost his love for his family.

He was proceeded in death by father, Charlie Habel; mother, Lillie Habel; and brother, Charles Habel.

He is survived by four daughters, Sherri Davidson and husband Jon of China Spring, Michelle Hammack and husband James of Robinson, Suzanne McElhaney of Fort Worth, and Andrea Fulp and husband Matt of China Spring; grandchildren, Brittany and Michael Ramagos of Houston, Hillary Davidson and future grandson Michael Ortiz, Caleb Davidson, Dylan Hammack, Christian and Nicholas McElhaney, Amanda and Kody Fulp; great-grandson, Bryson Ramagos; sister, Helen Komorowski of Suamico, WI; and sister-in-law, Helen Habel of Marlin.

Pallbearers will be Jon Davidson, James Hammack, Matt Fulp, Robert Golson, and Stephen Habel, and all the grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ in Robinson.

The family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff of Regent Care Nursing Home for the loving care of our dad as their own family.
