Robert Shelton Hughes, 68, of China Spring passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in China Spring.
Graveside services will be at 12 pm on Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Alan Grant officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am on Saturday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.
Robert was born on May 20, 1938 in Waco to Bryant Robert and Minnie Rosella (Shelton) Hughes.
He married the love of his life, Jimmie Kaye Hendrix. He was a member of the China Spring United Methodist Church.
Robert was an architect and a teacher. He drew up many architectural plans around the Waco area. Robert treated all his students like they were his children and was a skilled craftsman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jimmie Kaye Hughes of China Spring; sons, Scott Allen Hughes and wife, Christina of Burnet and Robert Shelton Hughes Sr. and wife, Sherry of Houston; and grandchildren, Destiny, Bob III, Trentor, and Mason.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be Barry Bloodworth, Ronnie Klatt, Terry Greene, Terry Greene Jr., Keith Shirley, Larry Dean, Pat Patrick, and Dr. Spencer Moore.
