January 27, 1925 - August 8, 2011

Robert Lee Jones, 86, of Waco, passed away Monday, August 08, 2011 at the St. Catherine Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home. Private graveside at Waco Memorial Park following service.

Robert was born January 27, 1925 in Marlin to Richard J. and Lila Jones. He retired from the General Tire & Rubber Company after working almost 38 years. Robert was also a member of the Masonic lodge, a member of Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Waco community for over 80 years. Robert met his wife, Helen B. Kuretsch, and they were married December 16, 1944 in Waco. Robert loved photography and was able to shoot many weddings of family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Lila and Richard Jones Sr.; brothers, Richard Jones Jr. and Jackie Ray Jones.

Robert was survived by his wife, Helen B. Jones; daughters, Mary Helen Carswell, of San Antonio, and Wanda J. Gilliam and husband, Richard, of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Randy Carswell, of San Antonio, Shelby Gilliam, of Hillsboro, Lindsey Wells, of Arlington; sister, Doris Bickerstaff, of Waco, great grandchildren, Riley Carswell, Austin Carswell, Mackenzie Carswell, Jackson Carswell, and Ashleigh Wells.
