Robert Melendez, 78, of Waco, Texas passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018. Funeral services will be at 11am Thursday, January 3, 2019 at OakCrest Funeral Home, with Pastor Wilford Whitby officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm, with a prayer service at 7pm Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Robert was born in Waco, Texas March 24, 1940 to Luis and Amelia (Alvarez) Melendez. He attended Waco Public Schools and graduated from TSTC. He worked in construction. He married the love of his life, Claudette Town. Robert was a devoted Christian and served the church in any way he could. He loved his family and friends and was always ready to assist in any way he could. He will be missed by many.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bobbie Jo Melendez; son, Henry Melendez, and infant grandson, Joshua Melendez.
He survived by his sons; Charles and Alexander Melendez; grandchildren; Robert, Leticia (Tisha) , Tiffany, Roxanne, Alicia, Ashley, Brandon, and Anthony Melendez; and 14 great grandchildren.
