Robert Anthony Melendez, Sr., 38, of Waco, passed away March 30, 2007.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown.
Robert was born in Waco, and was a painter with Dyer Painting Company. He was a loving husband, father and a friend to all. He fought a courageous battle with cancer but still cared enough to share with young teens at Dare to Dream about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Just before he became ill, he yielded himself to God and had a stronger walk with Jesus.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hillcrest Hospice and Texas Oncology for their loving care.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Manuel Sr. and Ophelia Perales and paternal grandparents, Luis and Amelia Melendez.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel Melendez; son, Robert A. Melendez Jr.; daughter, Jenni Jacinto; parents, Ralph Sr. and Delores Melendez; mother, Marie Linares (Kookie); brother, Ralph Melendez Jr.; sisters, Stacy Melendez, Stephanie Ledesma, Melissa Linares, and Cynthia Linares; sister-in-law, Stella Turrubiartez; and brothers-in-law, Michael Dominguez and Toby Dominguez.
Pallbearers will be Lupe Olivarez, Armando Martinez, Marcus Davilla, Adam Davilla, Anthony Garcia, Edward Ramirez, Chris Olivas and Michael Olivas.
