Bob was a prize winning participant in many Bar- B- Que cookoffs with his family known as The Michna Tribe. The greatest honor Bob ever received in a BBQ cook-off competition was the year that his BBQ sauce took first place with his mother's recipe.

Bob's unconditional love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren along with other family members cannot be measured in words alone ... it was in his actions. After family and his beloved dogs, Bob enjoyed cooking, and loved to cook BBQ for other people to enjoy. This included President Ford when he came to Temple. Bob also was called multiple times to travel to Washington D.C. to serve members of congress. It was Bob's honor to support our soldiers for the past two decades. The 124 Calvary Regiment Spurs made Bob an honorary member which was one of his proudest moments.

Bob was in the BBQ business for 55 years. He first worked at Rudy Mikeska's and then Clem Mikeska's of Temple until he started his own business in 1987 in Waco, Texas.

Bob supported the youth of McLennan and surrounding counties by sponsoring multiple baseball, softball, football, basketball, and soccer teams since 1984. One of his greatest loves was the McLennan County livestock Show in which he participated and supported since 1987. He also supported the Heart of Texas Scholarship committee and other school and church organizations. For several years, Michna's Bar-B-Que sponsored a race car at the Heart of Texas Speed Way.

Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother John and Gertrude Michna, brothers Johnnie and Roy Michna and grandparents Max and Julie Beyer and John and Anna Michna.

Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Michna. One daughter, Tammy Talasek, son in law Greg Talasek, grandchildren Justin Talasek, Brittany Talasek, Kimberley Olsen, grandson in law Garrett Olsen, great grandchildren Madison Mayfield and Luke Olsen. Son Robert Michna, Jr, daughter in law Kim Michna, grandsons Lane, Cade, and Reed Michna. Son Billy Michna, daughter in law Diane Degrate-Michna and their extended family. He was also survived by Sister Judy (Tom) Motyka of Cameron, brothers Larry (Kathy) Michna of Prairie Dell, Tony Michna of Taylor, Jimmy (Denise) Michna of Johan, and sister in law Irene Michna of Taylor. Bob was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Finally Bob was survived by his beloved dogs Rascal, Foxie, and Taz.

Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, honorary member of the Northwest Optimist Club, member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and member of the Farm Bureau.
