Robert Charles “Tre” Taplin III, 20, of Waco, passed away tragically Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Waco. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Blackford officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Tre was born March 18, 1992 in Waco. He graduated from Connally High School in 2010. He began working at Shipley’s Donuts while in high school and worked there until he graduated. He then worked for H.E.B. on Wooded Acres Drive before going to work as an Assurance Tech for Cargill here in Waco. Tre was a member of Cogdell Memorial Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Taplin; three children, Alex, Evelyn and Prisilla; his mother, Tammy Speas and Charles; his father, Robert Taplin, Jr. and wife, Lashunda Taplin; grandparents, Everett and Karen Speas and Robert and Ida Taplin, Sr.; siblings, Dantisha Hamilton, Tiffany Taplin, Brandon Taplin, Jashimon Taplin and Elijah Taplin; several aunts and uncles; his special brother, Brandon Lofton; and a host of other family members and friends.
In lieu of floral arrangements, donations can be directed to OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., to help with Tre’s funeral expenses.
