Robert (Bob) R. Wooldridge, 86, of Waco passed away Saturday, September 30, 2006. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 2, at the funeral home.

Bob was born March 10, l920, in Wilmar, Arkansas. He was the youngest son of Henry Agrippa Wooldridge and Ruth Jane Carter Wooldridge. His early years were lived in Arkansas and Mississippi. With the outbreak of World War II he joined the Army Air Corps and was commissioned as a bombardier. He also flew missions as a radar operator on a B24 weather reconnaissance plane. Honorably discharged at the end of the conflict, Bob came to Waco in l946 and attended Baylor University where he received a BBA degree in business and history. His career was spent as a salesman for various companies, with long tenures at Henson Printing Company and J. S. Barnett Company. He married Bobbie Coleman Naylor in 1969, and they have celebrated 37 years together.

A long-time member of V.F.W. Post 2148, Bob was Quartermaster of the Post for seven years. He was active in volunteer activities at the V.A., and he and Bobbie held bingo for the V.F.W. for many years. He also was a huge fan of the Baylor Lady Bear basketball team and rarely missed a game. Bob loved his family and enjoyed his friends. His family and friends loved his great storytelling and the sense of humor which he never lost. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Myree Wooldridge, Myrtie Wooldridge Taylor, and Betty Wooldridge Henderson; his brothers, John Wooldridge, James Wooldridge, and Fay Wooldridge; and his son Earl Naylor.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Wooldridge; daughters, Elgenia Sandefur of Waco and Bobbie Myers and husband, John (Bubba) of Waco; grandchildren, Zack Myers and wife, Candace of Fort Worth, Todd Myers and wife, Alyssa of San Antonio, Scott Myers of McKinney, M/Sgt. John Lovering and wife, Terrie and great-granddaughter, Samantha of Navarra, Florida, T/Sgt. Bill Lovering, Rtd. and wife, Linda of Alamogordo, New Mexico; nephews, Lloyd H. Taylor, Jr. and wife, Mildred of Waco, Ray Taylor of Waco, Dr. Henry Wooldridge and wife, Jonelle of Lenoir City, Tennessee; nieces, Betty Jo Cross and husband, Jack of Denton, Jane Cole and husband, Charles of Denton, Ann Carlson of Flower Mound, and Betty Hoevel of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Zack Myers, Todd Myers, Scott Myers, Josh Manlove, John Lovering, and Wayne Pace. Honorary pallbearers will be members of V.F.W. Post 2148.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Providence Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
