Roberta Ann DePriest

Roberta Ann DePriest, 62, passed away at her home in Hewitt on Friday, October 15, 2010.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Su Milam to officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.
Roberta was born August 1, 1948 in Long Beach, California to Charlie and Stella (Prince) Prater. Roberta married August 2, 1969 in Arvin, California to Richard E. DePriest, her lifelong best friend.
Roberta retired from the City of Hewitt in January 2010 after 25 years of employment. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waco, Texas.
Roberta enjoyed playing the piano, singing and was a member of church choir in the past, scrap booking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Roberta has been a volunteer with the boy scouts and girl scouts and a reserve police officer.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. DePriest; three daughters, Suzanne Lawson and husband, Greg of Killeen; Marianne Pitts Keller and husband, Derrick of Lorena; and Sherri DePriest of Waco; one son, William DePriest of Idaho; grandchildren Mason, Cole and Carter Pitts, and Kordelia "Abby" Lawson; sisters, Anita Warren and husband Fred of Adair, Oklahoma; Beverly Olague and husband, Don of Bakersfield, California; and a brother, Charles Prater of Alvarado; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
