Rodrigo A. Chacon, 58, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 after a short battle with cancer. The Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home followed at 4 p.m. by a memorial service officiated by Deacon Jeff Heiple.
Rodrigo was born in Panama City, Panama, and practiced as a lawyer there for 10 years before coming to America in 1990. He has worked at Ben's Short Stop, Inc. as Maintenance Supervisor since 1999. Rodrigo was a loving husband and father with a great sense of humor.
He devoted himself to guiding his two sons to become young men, teaching them to respect others, fix automobiles, and value their Catholic faith. He was particularly proud when both of them became Eagle Scouts. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Bellmead, and devoutly said his Rosary daily. He also loved taking his beloved dog, Tucker, on long walks with him.
Rodrigo will be deeply missed by his loving family and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Geovana Bernal Chacon; his two sons, Roderick, a pre-med student at Texas A&M, and Robert, a graduating senior at Reicher High School; a brother, Jorge Chacon; and two sisters, Maria Ramirez and Margarita Chacon.
