Mrs. Rolanda Nokomis Anderson Bennett, 37, of Waco, was called home to rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, August 8, 2008.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Buhl Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video will be shown during the visitation.

Rolanda was born in Waco to Yvonne Jackson and Ronnie Anderson. She graduated from Waco High School in 1989, and continued her education at McLennan Community College. Rhonda just recently received her certificate as a Massage Therapist. At the time of her passing, she was establishing her clientele for her treatment program.

She was a long time active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a member of the yearly Vacation Bible School committee and was a member of the Zion Hill Praise Dance Ministry.

On March 10, 1990, Rolanda married Maurice Trevell Bennett. To this union, a son was born, Maurice "TJ" Trevell Bennett. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1992.

Rolanda is survived by her husband of 18 years, the Rev. Maurice Bennett; her mother and step-father, Yvonne and Nathaniel Jackson of Hewitt; her father, Ronnie Anderson of Waco; one brother, Edward (Matalya) Belvin, Jr. of Waco; her grandmother, Nokomis Williams and husband, Billy D. of Waco; her parents-in-law, Izeal and Barbara Bennett of McComb, MS; two aunts, Vera Washington and Leola Miller, both of Waco; two uncles, L.J. Joiner, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Austin and Dwayne Joiner and wife, Janet of Waco; mentoring parents, Pastor and Sister Carl L. Buhl Sr,; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and countless devoted friends.

She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep" Thessalonians 4:13-14
