Romie (Bill) Neal Williams was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Wesley Woods Alzheimer's Care Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Oakcrest Funeral Home with Chaplain Suzanne Smith of Providence Hospice officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with his grandson Trent Williams officiating.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday, June 28, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Bill was born October 18, 1928, in the Beattie Community in Comanche County, to Samuel Franklin and Ethel McCorkle Williams. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from the Post Office in 1985 after 37 years of service. Bill was an avid fisherman and also loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Judson Williams of Beverly Hills.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pat Williams of Waco; his sister, Patsy and Jackie Welch of Arlington; sister-in-law, LaVern Williams of Waco; daughter, Linda and Robert Wernette of Hewitt; two sons, Kenny Williams and Carolyn of Waco, and Mike and Sue Williams of Allenwood, Pennsylvania; Carol Behringer of Waco; Rick and Katherine Brown of Weatherford; Terry and Brenda Brown of China Spring; Chris and Judy Brown of Hewitt; one niece, Vicki Cunningham; two nephews Kent Welch and Clint Welch; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cory Brown, Justin Brown, Weston Brown, Robert Brown, Jackie Welch and Robert Wernette.
