Ronald Bates

Ronnie Bates, 67, of Sherman, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. Services will be at 10 am on Saturday, May 7th, 2016 at OakCrest Funeral Home, with Rev. Greg Brumit officiating, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the funeral home.

Ronnie was born July 28, 1948 in Waco, Texas to Ovie C. and Pauline (Copaus) Bates. He was a loving and caring son, husband, father and grandfather. Ronnie worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant for 20 years. He was a devoted Baylor fan.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry, wife Cathy, and brother Leslie.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Tammy Stone and husband Rob of Anna, Texas; son, Michael Bates of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Courtney, Ariel and Halye; and 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Ann Cressman of Driftwood, TX and Jayme Bates of Denton and a brother, Andy Bates, of Tyler.
