Ronald Gilbert Meek (1939 – 2014)

Ronald Gilbert “Todd” Meek, 74, of Georgetown, formerly of Waco, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2014. He was born June 6, 1939, in Waco to Halbert Lee and Edith Sullenberger Meek.

He graduated from West High School in 1957, attended Baylor University and received a diploma from Four C College.

Ronald was a Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst in the insurance industry for 40 years. He served in the Boy Scouts as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Camp Ranger in the Longhorn Council. His Scouting achievements include Wood Badge leadership training, Order of the Arrow and 3 treks at Philmont Explorer base. He was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church in Waco and loved his Agape Sunday school class.

Ronald’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Margaret Weaver Meek, 2 sons and their wives Kenneth & Tracy Meek of Georgetown , and Michael & Michelle Meek of Argyle; grandchildren Meagan Meek and Kasey Meek of Belton, and Ian Dietz of Argyle; Sisters-in-law, Barbara Szanto and Vicki Meek; and Special Friends Jessica Henderson and Taylor Oden. He was preceded in death by his brother Phillip Meek, parents and grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Meek, Ricky Meek, Alex McKown, Ian Deitz, Taylor Oden and Ray Colclasure. Honorary Pallbearers are Patrick Meek and the WHBC Agape Sunday school class.

Visitation will be held at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Wednesday May 14 from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Western Heights Baptist Church, 6301 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Thursday May 15 at 2:00 pm.

The graveside service will immediately follow the funeral service at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S 5th St, Waco. His desire was that rememberance gifts be made to Western Heights Baptist Church, Waco or The Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts, Box 54190, Hurst, TX 76054.
