Rose Mary Goldapp

Rose Mary Goldapp passed away on February 5, 2024 in Waco. A Memorial Service will be held
Saturday, February 24, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, Waco, Texas. Reverend Roy Marshall
will be officiating. A grave-side service will be held at a later date at Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Freeport.

She was born August 26, 1923 in Coldwater Creek, Michigan to Floris and Nell Mullinix Maurer. Her
family moved to Waco, Texas while she was a child. She attended school in Waco and later a business
college in Houston where she met Frank Goldapp. They were married in Galveston, Texas in 1952. They
made their home in Freeport, Texas where Frank owned and operated a freight shipping business. She
was the manager of H. L. Ziegler Inc. Ocean and Air Freight Brokers and Forwarders until she retired.
Rose Mary was very active in Jones Creek Baptist Church. She was a “Prayer Warrior” and the first to
help financially on any mission project or other church need. She had a heart for her Jesus and His
kingdom work.

After Frank died in 1991, Rose Mary moved to Waco, Texas to be closer to family. In Waco she became
very active in First Baptist Hewitt, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was a member of the Red Hat
Society, and exercised daily at Curves until her late-80’s earning many awards for consecutive days
exercising. She dearly loved her friends in Waco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Flora Nell Miley and husband, Elwood, Marie Weathers and husband, Stormy, and Geraldine Warren.

She is survived by her nieces, Karen Garbett and husband, Kent and Debbie Sherman and husband, Eddie;
nephews, Bob Weathers and William Goldapp and wife, Beverly; and brother-in-law, Billy Warren. She is also
survived by many great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews who all
affectionately called her “Aunt Pete.” Her very best friend and neighbor in Freeport, Vicki Danes, will
also miss her as well as her other many friends in Freeport and Waco.

The family would like to express their appreciation to special caregiver Tammie Williams, as well as the
staff in the Brazos Neighborhood at The Delaney for loving and caring for our Aunt Pete.
