Rosemary Hanus Spence was called home to be with God on February 19, 2008. Rosemary is survived by her daughters Zephyr Marek & husband Daniel of Rockdale, TX; Matilda Jean Crover & husband Wally of The Colony, TX; Son Christopher Spence of Matador, TX; sister Lucy Drury of Corpus Christi, TX; brother-in-law Bill Clay of San Antonio; sister- in –law Louise Hanus of Normagee; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was born in Waco, TX on July 17, 1926. She graduated from Waco High School. She married Christopher C. Spence Jr. on October 9, 1944. He proceeded her in death on May 1, 1989. Also, proceeded in death was her parents Otto and Matilda Navara Hanus, grandson Michael John Crover, brother Dan Hanus and sister Florene Clay and grandson –in-law, Greg McConkey and brother-in-law Roy Drury. Rosemary was a secretary for Cogdell's, Ranger Hall of Fame and 34 years for R.V.O.S. Her hobbies included cooking, crafts, and most of all "the love for her family". She leaves a legacy of great memories and will be missed by many loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday at Oak Crest Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held at Oak Crest Funeral Home at 4520 Bosque Blvd on February 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. followed by burial at Waco Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to your favorite charity or S.P.J.S.T. Scholarship Fund or Scott & White Hospice in her memory.
