Ruby Prem Carroll of Waco was born on March 22, 1948, in Kerala, India, to P. Abraham and Aleyamma Samuel, and passed away on December 6, 2019, at the age of 71.

Visitation will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 10, followed by funeral services at 12:30 PM at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco, TX 76710. Graveside service and burial is scheduled for 2 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th St., Waco, TX 76710.

Soon after her birth, Ruby‘s family migrated to Singapore where she grew up. She studied at a mission school, Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School, and did her pre-university studies at St. Andrews School.

After working for several years, Ruby joined Youth With A Mission, ministering for two years in Australia, then returning to Singapore where she joined the staff of Community of Praise Baptist Church.

She met Dan Carroll while on a CPBC mission trip to India in 1993, shortly thereafter marrying him and moving to Texas where she proudly became a United States citizen on November 18, 2008. Following that, she taught classes for immigrants to help them in studying to become U.S. citizens.

She enjoyed gardening and cooking and worked for awhile as church secretary at Highland Baptist Church where she was involved in prayer ministry and loved participating in praise and worship.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her sister Reny Margaret George and husband Titus, brother Roy Godwin and wife Caroline and by her husband of 25 years, Dan Carroll. She also has many close relatives here in the United States, as well as in Singapore, Malaysia, India, Australia and Norway.
