Ruby Padgett

Ruby Padgett, 91, of Waco, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at OakCrest Funeral Home with her grandson Blake Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.

Ruby was born in Moody to Gordon and Eva Scoggins. She worked at Baylor University for 23 years at Penland Hall. She married Harold Padgett on Nov. 3, 1941 and were married 66 years at the time of his death in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Dorothy Davis; a sister; and four brothers.

She is survived by her son, Joe Padgett and wife, Melissa, of Harker Heights; daughter, Betty Harper and husband, A.C., of DeRidder, LA; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
