Rubye Louise Hudson Carroll, 94, of Waco, passed away Thursday, August 21, in Regent Care Center.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at OakCrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video of her life will be shown at the visitation and service.
Rubye was born May 25, 1914 in Durrand, GA. to John and Nancy (Burham) Hudson. She attended school in Durrand and graduated as high school valedictorian.
She married Ike Carroll on September 3, 1939 in Atlanta, GA., and they would have celebrated 69 years of marriage next month.
They moved to Waco in 1950 where she was a homemaker and also assisted her husband in operating Carroll & Rogers Office Machines for many years.
She was a charter member of the Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Ike Carroll; son, Wayne Lee Carroll and wife, Deborah of College Station; and two daughters, Nancy Gravley of Austin and Patsy Girsh and husband, Louis of Broaddus, TX.; 13 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.
