Sam Juarez 83, of Waco passed away Saturday June 24, 2006.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at St. Francis Catholic. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday June 26 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation.
Mr. Juarez was born June 6, 1923 in Austin, Texas to Justo and Josefina Juarez. He married Tomasa Basquez May 29, 1948 in Waco. Mr. Juarez was WWII Veteran having served with H Company, 311th Infantry Regiment, 78th Division.
He received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge. Sam retired as a plastering foreman for Charlie's Plastering after 50 years of service.
He was member of VFW Post #2148. Sam was preceded in death by his brothers, sister, sons Justo, Sam Jr., George, special mother-in-law Isabel Basquez and grandson little Charlie.
Mr. Juarez is survived by his wife of 58 years Tomasa, daughter Maria Castilleja and husband Robert , sons Robert Juarez and wife Sylvia, Charlie Juarez Sr. and wife Mary all of Waco, Rudy Juarez of Kerrville, special sister-in-laws, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Sam will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
