Sandra Jean Wilson, 70, of Waco, Texas passed away on January 19, 2013, at Providence Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with multiple medical issues. There will be a family interment ceremony at Oakwood Cemetery, followed by a public memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, at 7th & James Baptist Church (located at 602 James Ave.) with Reverend Erin Conaway officiating. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Sandra Jean Hensley was born the youngest daughter of Ewel Ray Hensley, and Euta Edith Jackson on May 22, 1942 in Tyler, Texas. She moved with her family to Sherman, Texas where she attended school grades 1-12, graduating from Sherman High in 1960. She then moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where she worked as a secretary, and attended Centinary College. She moved to Dallas to work at Buckner Children's Home where she met her future husband, William Elbert "Bert" Wilson, Jr. They were married February 5th, 1966. They had five children: William Scott, Evelyn Lorraine, Wendy Beth, Christopher Collin Elbert, and Peter Alan Davidson.

Sandra trained as an LVN while living in Maryland. She worked as a Database Administrator for IBM until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of 7th & James Baptist Church where she was a deacon, member of Newcomers and Neighbors, and the Thursday "Therapy" Bridge Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ewel Ray & Euta Edith Hensley.

Survivors include her beloved husband, William Elbert Wilson, Jr., her son William Scott Wilson of Kearneysville, WV, her daughter Evelyn Lorraine Schultz of Chula Vista, CA, her daughter Wendy Beth Lindly of Buford, GA, her son Peter Alan Davidson Wilson of Purcell, OK, and son Christopher Collin Elbert Wilson of Haslet, Texas. Grandchildren include Alison Brooke Wilson of Maryland, Jennifer Elizabeth & Jessica Leigh Lindly of Georgia, Jeremiah William Schultz of California, and Conor William, Sally Michelle & Quinlan Joseph Wilson of Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Carol LePere, of Mesquite, and nieces Debbie Easton, Donna Crumley, and nephew Jeff Crumley.

Pallbearers will be Scott Wilson, Collin Wilson, Alan Wilson, Daniel Lindly, John Easton, and Jeff Crumley.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the 4th floor nursing staff of the Providence Hospital, and Providence Hospice for their compassion and excellent care during such a difficult time. Your compassion will long be remembered. Thank you.
