Sara Don Trautschold Landsfeld

Sara Don Trautschold Jones Landsfeld, 59, passed away December 9, 2012. Mass will be Thursday, December 13 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Waco said by Msgr. Mark Deering with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be Wednesday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, led by Lambert and Sue Havelka.
Sara was born in Waco to Carl Alexander and Sara Cocke Trautschold. She graduated from University High School. After earning her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Southern Methodist University, Sara embarked on a highly successful career with BBDO Advertising in Dallas, serving as lead account executive for Quaker Oaks and Kaepa Shoes.
Her keen intellect earned her membership in Mensa, the international high IQ society. Many Waco groups benefited from her boundless talents. Sara served as director of the Hippodrome, officer for Junior League, aerobics instructor, and, most recently, member of the Iris Society. In her free time, Sara loved to quilt, sew, read books, spend time with her girlfriends, care for her beloved cats, and enjoy the family beach home in Port Aransas. Sara was a partner with Waco Beef and Pork Processing, LLC, directing the business affairs and marketing for the company. A devout Catholic, Sara attended St. Eugene Parish in McGregor.
She was preceded in death by her father; step-father, Henry Wallace Wright; and brothers, Carl Alexander (Bubba) Trautschold, James Andrew Flora, and Ralph Trautschold.
She is survived by her husband, Michael James Landsfeld; daughter, Sara Abigail Jones; grandson, Maximus Gregory Jones-Alexander; mother, Sara Don Cocke Wright; brothers, Walter Cocke Trautschold and Henry William Wright and wife Lenore; and nephew, Henry Wallace Wright, II.
Pallbearers will be Allen Staggers, Fort Staggers, Ken Boen, Joe. E. Landsfeld, Rick Fitzgerald, and Mark Liska.
