Sara, the ninth of ten children, was born and raised on a farm in Worthville, Georgia and was the daughter of Daniel Webster Swint and Virginia Frances Chambers Swint. After graduation, she moved to Jackson, Georgia and eventually to Atlanta where she worked full-time for a construction contractor, while taking classes at the University of Georgia. In Atlanta, she met Paul Sudan, an Army veteran and Georgia Tech graduate. They married September 19, 1949. The newlyweds subsequently moved to Texas, eventually settling in Houston for thirty-plus years until moving to Waco in 2002. Sara was a long-time member of Willow Meadows Baptist Church in Houston, where she volunteered for over 25 years as the flower mavon. This involved taking Sunday's altar flowers, re-purposing them into multiple arrangements, and delivering them to hospital patients. She always stayed to visit and brighten their day. She was also a member of the Braesmont Garden Club in Houston. Upon moving to Waco, Sara was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. She and Paul loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful trips, both in the states and abroad.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Philip Paul Sudan; her oldest son, Clinton Lee Sudan; and nine siblings.

Sara is survived by her three remaining children, Philip Sudan of Houston, Dr. Arthur Sudan and wife, Luana of Waco and Ginny Glass and husband, Bruce of Houston. Sara loved her family more than anything in the world and leaves behind seven grandchildren, who were the joy of her life; Christy Ogden and husband, Jordan, Travis Turek and wife, Erin, Carly Sudan, Robin Sudan, Amy Marable and husband, Blake, Jason Sudan and wife, Alex and Mary Beth Sudan; and has welcomed the addition of four great-grandchildren in the last three years; Jayden Ogden, Emma Turek, Emory Marable and Duncan Ogden.

Sara, Mom, Grandma, Granny.....thank you for the abundant love that you lavished on each of us! We will miss you.
